9 Things New Mommies Just Can’t Get Themselves To Stop Doing, At Any Cost
Posted January 26
New mommies love to cuddle with their bundles of joy and cannot get enough of them. The motherly instinct makes them affectionate, passionate and protective towards their new born baby. They have made it through the tiring journey of 9 long months full of nausea, cravings and what not. A connection shared by the mother and her child is just inexplicable. There is no love superior to that of a mother. Here is a list of some adorable and a few not so adorable things new mums are guilty of doing.
Smelling and sniffing their baby every chance they get.
New mamas are overly attached to their infants. They love to smell the sweet smell from the baby’s hair or skin because they want to get the most out of the time they have as new mommies.
Constant checks and insecurities
Young mothers are obsessed with their babies and constantly keep a check on their little ones. Mommies tend to get overprotective of their young ones. There is no such thing as being sure. Not when it comes to their offspring who mean the world to their mommas.
Going without showers for countless days.
Finding the time to do things for personal self becomes a long-lost dream, even simplest things of daily routine like taking shower. However, they should not forget to use deodorants in that case.
Procrastination at its highest
Letting your adorable baby sleep endlessly on your chest and procrastinating everything on the to-do list is not uncommon with mommies. They would practically give up the world for their little one.
Googling every little thing your baby does.
Babies come with no prior manuals or preparation. Many times, they do things that look less ordinary to their scared mommies. Thus, googling seems like the best option and a way to connect to thousands of mothers facing the same.
Staring at the baby monitor for too long.
Babies look cuter while sleeping than awake, especially the time when they are crying, acting cranky, etc. Mommies tend to watch their tiny baby sleeping longer than usual and necessary.
Posting baby’s photos and videos online
New parents are so excited for the baby to eat the first bite, speak the first word, walk for the first time, etc. Some parents wish to share every little detail of their child on the social media. A few of them even make new accounts in the name of their kids and start posting things.
Over packing diaper bags and milk bottles
It is better to be safe than sorry and that is exactly why mothers pack more items than necessary for a day out. They want to keep everything extra just in case they might need it. Not to mention that they also have to carry heavy bags everywhere.
Wearing clothes that are visibly dirty.
Since mothers have less time for themselves and to care about their appearances, they are often spotted wearing visibly dirty clothes. Perhaps, because they know the clothes will eventually get dirty again, so why change?
